The Carmen Thyssen Space is a centre for temporary exhibitions which opened its doors in the summer of 2012 with Light landscapes, dreamy landscapes.  From Gauguin to  Delvaux.

It has different exhibitions on display since then: 2013 (Sisley-Kandinsky-Hopper), 2014 (The ideal in the landscape . Among Meifrén, Matisse and Goncharova), 2015 (Barcelona - Paris - New York. From Urgell to O'Keeffe), 2016 ( The Illusion of the Far West), 2017 (An ideal world. From Van Gogh to Gauguin and Vasarely), 2018 (Nature in evolution. From Van Goyen to Pissarro and Sacharoff) and 2019 (Iconographies. From Sorolla to Picasso and Valdés). All of them had a good acceptance from both public and critic.

The Carmen Thyssen Space has become an artistic point of reference in the Costa Brava, placing Sant Feliu in the apex of a cultural triangle, together with Girona and Figueres.  This Space does not have a permanent collection. Until now, it offers temporary exhibitions of the Carmen Thyssen Collection from June to October.

The cuisine in Sant Feliu de Guíxols is well-known for the quality of its products, not only fish and vegetables, but also meat and fruits. The cuisine has a long-lasting tradition that reinterprets both its traditional and its creative dishes. We must point out the oily fish and the seafood cuisine, such as fish stew, anchovies stew, cod and peixopalo (dried cod without salt).

The town has a large network of signposted paths that give you the chance to hike or cycle different routes.  You can walk on the coastal path along the cliffs and coves or discover the Gavarres and Ardenya massif through their paths.

The landscape of the area and its contrasts -typical Mediterranean – are one of the tourist attractions of the town. Sant Feliu is surrounded by large natural areas such as Gavarres and Ardenya massif, which have many signposted paths that helps you to discover the surroundings.

Sant Feliu has cultural and festive traditions with events such as Porta Ferrada festival – music, theatre and dance-. It takes place during the summer and is the oldest in Catalonia. There are other important events such as Carnival, Cançó de Taverna (the fishermen songs), Festa Major, fairs in September or boat procession of Verge del Carme.

The Porta Ferrada is a Catalan, Mediterranean and European festival.

Sant Feliu is characterised by its peaceful population and its quality of life. We must point out the personality of the ganxons, how the inhabitants are called, which is cheerful, genuine and friendly.

The town is full of identity, which we find in its special corners, like the local market. It provides fresh and quality products and offers a local trade in a welcoming atmosphere. We invite you to meet Sant Feliu inhabitants, while walking along the sea promenade or reaching the lighthouse and enjoying the views, the smell of the sea and the murmur of people. Do not miss the arrival of the fishing boats in the harbour early in the morning.
