The long cultural and festive tradition of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is manifested in events such as the Porta Ferrada Festival - of music, theater and dance -, which is celebrated in the summer months.
The Porta Ferrada Festival, born in 1958 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols, is the summer festival with the most tradition in Catalonia and this 2023 has been the one that has enjoyed the most attendance in the entire Catalan territory. Unique on the Costa Brava for its proposal open to all artistic disciplines, it has the participation of established names and emerging talents from the international, national and local scene.
In addition to the most well-known locations, such as Espai Port and Guíxols Arena, the festival is located in emblematic spaces of the municipality such as the Monastery or the Narcís Masferrer Municipal Auditorium Theatre.
For a few years, Salat, the first comedy show in Catalonia, has been held within the Porta Ferrada festival, with great success.
