CARNIVAL 2020

It's one of the most important Carnivals of the Costa Brava, where lots of Carnival groups from the town and from the surroundings take part in. Great Carnival tradition with lots of activities for children and adults.

Saturday February 15th

PARADE TO DISTRIBUTE THE CARNIVAL POSTERS AT 6 pm

The Carnival 2020 group will walk around the town centre to distribute the posters and the programme of the Carnival 2020. They will arrive at “La Bomba” party at the Guíxols Arena.

LA BOMBA PARTY AT 7.30 pm

At the Guíxols Arena. Els Torrats, the Carnival 2019 group, will give “la Bomba” to the Drink team, Carnival 2020 group, in a party full of surprises. The entertainment will be by PEP CALLAU AND THE CIA PEPSICOLEN. 

CARNIVAL GROUPS DINNER AND PRESENTATION OF THE CARNIVAL 2020 A LES 21.30 h.

At the Guíxols Arena canopy. It’s a popular dinner (everyone brings it). Sopar popular de les colles de carnaval (cadascú se’l porta) a l’envelat del Guíxols Arena.

At 10.30 pm.

Announcement of the Godmothers of the Carnival 2020 and presentation of the Carnival 2020. The entertainment will be in charge of PEP CALLAU.

At 11.30 pm.

There will be dance & party by FUNDACIÓN IBIZA. *Door opening at 9pm. *Ticket price: 2€ (reservation of a seat).

From Monday 17th to Thursday 20th February

CARNIVAL VISITS 

Drink Team Carnival group will visit the schools, the occupation centre, the care homes and the civic centres to wish everyone a happy Carnival.

Thursday February 20th

FANCY-DRESS PARTY FOR CHILDREN AT 5.30 pm.

It’s a fancy-dress party for children with the PAÜRA show by BELLUGA CIA at the Guíxols Arena canopy. There will be an afternoon snack of bread with chocolate for all the children. *Free admission. *Door opening at 5pm.

FAT THURSDAY PARTY AT 10 pm.

It’s the presentation event of the Carnival at the Guíxols Arena canopy. There will be exhibitions by Mistreet Dance Studio, a speech by the godmothers of the Carnival and an inauguration speech by the Carnival king 2020.

 At 11 pm

There will be dance by BANDA NEON & CELTIC DJ'S. *Price: 6€ (no drink included).

Friday February 21st

PRESENTATION OF THE CARNIVAL GROUPS AT 12 pm.

This is the official presentation of the Carnival groups that are going to take part in the parade at the Guíxols Arena canopy. A speech by the Carnival 2020 will be carried out. There will be exhibitions by Mistreet Dance Studio  Afterwards, the wine of honour will be offered outside the canopy. *Free admission *Door opening at 11.30 am.

FRIDAY CARNIVAL PARADE AT 6 pm.

It’s the Carnival parade that will begin at 6pm. Itinerary: Girona road (meeting point with Rambla Joan Bordàs), Sant Joan square, La Rambla (up to the Passeig del Mar).

BALL DEL TONGO - CARNIVAL DANCE AT 12 am (after the parade)

Dance by HOTEL COCHAMBRE and DJ ERNEST CODINA at the Guíxols Arena canopy. At half-time, the prizes will be given. Door opening at 11.30pm. *Price 7€ (no drink included).  *Door opening at 11.30 pm.

Saturday February 22nd

CARNIVAL PARTY FOR CHILDREN AT 11 am

This is a travelling street show “CARNESTOLTES, EL REI DELS POCASOLTES” by cia. ACTUA.  Afterwards, there will be a hot chocolate tasting on Sant Joan square. Itinerary: Passeig del Mar (in front of the Town Hall), La Rambla and Sant Joan square.

Sunday February 23rd

SUNDAY MORNING CARNIVAL PARADE AT 11 am.

This is a festive Carnival parade that will begin at 11am. Itinerary: Colom street (starting at the harbour), passeig dels Guíxols and passeig del Mar.

Wednesday February 26th

BURIAL OF THE SARDINE AT 8 pm.

Funeral procession by the Carnival groups. Itinerary: nave of the parade floats, Indústria street, Cúbies street, Hériz street, Balears avenue, Canàries avenue and end on Salvador Espriu square

SARDINE TASTING AT 9 pm.

On Salvador Espriu square. Closing event of the Carnival 2020. Special prizes for the local Carnival groups will be given. Dance and party by NOUSO. In cooperation with the Fishermen association of the town.

Saturday February 29th

1st ULTIMATUM BY LA MONTECARLO + DJ FROM 10.30 pm.

At Las Vegas Dancinh Hall. Come dressed up and win a Cruise through the Mediterranean for 2 persons and other surprise prizes. The raffle will take place the same night. *Price: 10 € one drink included (soft drinks/ beer) *Taxes not included
